If your Wave ViewPoint is working properly but the Contact Center Reporter is not able to start, the likely cause is the SQL 2012 Native Client Driver is not installed on the workstation.  This often occurs when setting up a new workstation, or you’ve recently upgraded to Wave 7.0 (which requires a newer version of the SQL Native Client Driver than previous versions of Wave).

The typical error message is, “Could not connect to the database on [Wave].  Please verify the server name and try again”:

When ViewPoint is initially installed, a notification is presented that the SQL Native Client Driver must be installed for the Contact Center Reporter to function:

This can be easily installed by browsing to Wave’s “NetSetup” network share and launching “sqlncli_x64.msi” (64-bit) or “sqlncli_x86.msi” (32-bit):

Note: This process is only for the workstations and not the Wave server itself.
