What is the difference between “Lock to Host” and “Lock to Board” ?

When you receive your Dialogic HMP License Delivery Link, you will verify your license count is accurate before downloading your license file.  You will need to choose between “Lock to Host” or “Lock to Board” before downloading your license file.

Lock to Host:  This is the most common choice, and is used when you are using Dialogic HMP without a physical Dialogic board (such as a Dialogic DNI series board) installed in the server.  You must specify the 12-digit MAC address of network controller in the server where you will be running Dialogic HMP.  Most customers will choose this option.

Lock to Board:  This option is used if you are using Dialogic HMP in combination with a physical Dialogic Board (such as a Dialogic DNI series board) installed in the same server.  With this option, you must specify the Serial Number of the physical Dialogic Board installed in the server (typically two letters followed by six numbers.  e.g: RC123456)
